Summer Time is Here

My Dearest Daughters,

The summer time was your favourite time of the year when we were together. Is it still so now that you have grown up more? There is a heat wave warning in Vancouver - temperature only gone up to 28 or 29 celsius. Do you remember how how it used to get in Cairo? Perspective is everything!

In Cairo 28 celsius is great weather maybe even considered cool comparatively and here in Vancouver triggers a heat warning because it doesn't get this warm. Been reflecting on perspective a lot recently. Wondering how you are feeling about the summer? do you like spending it on the beach as you used in Egypt or do you enjoy hiking and riding your bikes? Holland is famous for nature and beauty and cycling. Would love to hear about that some day.

Alia - you birthday is coming up. Every year, the time around your birthday and Hayatt's is tough. You are always in my thoughts all year but the your birthdays gets especially hard. You are missed. Our memories and time together are engrained and some times they are the only that keeps me going. That and the hope that one day we can be together again. One day, you will feel my embrace and love. You will hear my voice saying "I love you, Alia", "I love you, Hayatt" and you will feel a burning sigh coming out and you will see my tears of joy for seeing you.

One of my favourite summer trips together was when we went to Soma bay. Do you remember that? We rented a boat and went fishing. You both caught fish and we ended up eating them after the chef on the boat prepared them! It was delicious! Alia's hair was blown away by the wind so your mom put it in a cute little bun whilst Hayatt - the wise - had hers already in a bread under her hat. You have always been so smart, Hayatt.

I am so proud of both of you and I will always love you.
